As we approach the upcoming election in November, it is important that we know as much about the candidates as possible.
John McCain's record and service to our country is clear and in the open. He has displayed his patriotism with his service to our country and his stance on national defense is firm.
On the other hand, the Democratic ticket offers a candidate about whom we know very little. Questions have been asked about his associations with his radical pastor Jeremiah Wright and terrorist William Ayers. Many question his antagonistic attitude towards U.S. military troops and his repeated negative comments about America. His stance on abortion and marriage has also alarmed a large portion of our population who believe that there are moral absolutes worth defending.
But amidst all of this controversy, many in America have taken Obama at his word when it comes to his claim that he is a Christian. They say there is no reason to doubt that he is a believer in Jesus as he claims, despite his having been born to a Muslim father and having lived in a Muslim country with a Muslim step father for 4-5 years as a child.
So is his faith important? Does it matter? Are most of Americans perhaps too quick to give him a pass on this subject?
